Golf eHybrid

Convenient and faster charging image

Convenient and faster charging

Convenient and faster charging
When you charge your battery, you can expect shorter charging times thanks to DC fast charging. The battery can be recharged from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes at a moderate outside temperature and with a charging power of up to 40 kW.

In addition to efficient DC fast charging, AC charging is an attractive option for charging your battery. With an increased charging power to 11kW, you can fully charge the battery from 0 to 100% in around 2 hours and 30 minutes, providing a convenient and time-saving solution.

Getting far with electric
On a purely electric basis, the Golf eHybrid has a range of up to 100 km.If you decelerate while driving, i.e. slow down or roll, the battery recharges a bit. This process, called recuperation, gives you more range as you drive.

Power unfolded
In the e-TSI with mild hybrid technology, a starter generator assists the engine at start-up and at slow speed. Braking and rolling is used to charge the lithium-ion battery. This significantly reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Power redesigned image

Power redesigned

Your Golf  comes with a choice of two engines: either a 1.5 litre TSI with 85 kW or a 1.5 litre engine with 110 kW. Both are equipped with the DSG dual clutch gearbox.

In the e-TSI with mild hybrid technology, a starter generator supports the engine when you drive off and at low speeds. Braking and rolling are used to charge the lithium-ion battery. This helps to greatly reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

The Golf Style is also available as a plug-in hybrid. This is a plug-in hybrid with an electric motor and TSI petrol engine. When the battery is charged, the Golf eHybrid starts in electric-only mode, producing zero local carbon emissions. It can travel for up to 107 kilometres (combined) – measured using the WLTP method – using just the electric motor. Depending on the speed, driving mode and other parameters, the TSI engine switches on automatically.

Infotainment

Image
Say “Hello” to your Golf.

The new optional IDA online voice assistant allows you to conveniently operate the radio, telephone, your music, the optional three-zone air conditioning system and optional navigation unit with your voice. For example, you can select the radio station or choose the address book entry or telephone number you’re looking for with your voice.

The voice assistant can be started with “Hello IDA”. It also understands free formulations from everyday life such as “I’m cold.” or “Where are there Japanese restaurants in Berlin?”. In addition, thanks to digital microphones, it now also recognises whether the driver or the passenger is speaking, in order, for example, to provide the air conditioning in the vehicle specifically for the person making the request.

In addition to these features, IDA has been extended with ChatGPT. With this extension, you can seamlessly access the ever-growing database and read the searching results while driving. You can interact everytime with the car in natural language.

The new IDA voice assistant will also appear visually to you in the future on the centre display, with interactions enabled via graphics. The optimised system also asks questions or lets itself be interrupted.

IDA likewise allows you to access world knowledge made available via Internet partners (e.g. Wikipedia).

The seats in the new Golf are not only comfortable, they are also flexible. The split-folding rear bench seat lets you extend the luggage compartment as you need. Depending on the equipment line, the seats are covered as standard with fabric and ArtVelours microfleece.

The leather seats come with active air conditioning as an option, which provide cooling in summer and warmth in winter. The optional massage function on the drive side raises the comfort level another notch: Spoil yourself a little on the road too and ease the tension of everyday life.

Golf, open up!

Save yourself the bother of searching for your car key in your trousers, handbag or jacket pocket: once you have the key with you and you are no more than 1.5 metres away from your Golf, the doors and boot lid optionally unlock automatically as if by magic. You also don’t need the key to start the engine. All it takes is the touch of a button. And if the optional Keyless Access isn’t working, then it just means that your key isn’t in your pocket after all. Perhaps it’s on the kitchen table?

The optional head-up display turns part of the windshield into a projection screen to show speed, messages from the driver assistance systems or navigation instructions. The projection is easy to read even in backlit conditions. This keeps you well informed - without having to take your eyes off the road.

Driver Assist Systems

Keeps you in lane. And keeps others at a distance. image

Keeps you in lane. And keeps others at a distance.

With the optional Travel Assist you have an extremely useful driving assistant on board. It can keep you in your lane, maintain a minimum distance to the vehicle in front and the maximum speed you have set.

One of the features it uses to do this is adaptive lane guidance. This actively keeps the vehicle in the middle of the lane. Travel Assist adapts to your driving style and can also drive further to the left or right in its own lane instead of exactly in the middle.

If your Volkswagen is fitted with Park Assist, Side Assist and a navigation system, Travel Assist can also actively support you when changing lanes on the motorway as an option.

Travel Assist also offers predictive cruise control and cornering assistance. Here, the vehicle speed can be adapted to applicable speed limits as well as road layouts (bends, roundabouts etc.).

For a complete overview. image

For a complete overview.

Manoeuvring in the busy city centre, in a multi-storey car park or in rough terrain: there are many situations in which drivers could use a few extra eyes. With the optional Area View you get them in the form of four cameras that capture the area around the vehicle and transfer helpful information to the infotainment system display. For example, you can see kerbs or parking markings better and even look around the corner.

Keeps its distance. And sticks to speed limits.
Image

The optional Adaptive Cruise Control ACC helps you to maintain a previously set maximum speed and preset distance to the vehicle in front. In combination with a navigation system, ACC is extended by predictive cruise control and cornering assistance. This means that ACC can adapt the vehicle’s speed to the relevant speed limits and the road layout (bends, roundabouts etc.).

The standard Front Assist emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring can warn you of critical situations involving pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles. It can even brake automatically in emergency situations. In evasive and turn-off situations, Front Assist can potentially prevent an impending accident within the limits of the system by issuing a warning or applying the emergency brake.

Staying in lane. image

Staying in lane.

Monotonous journeys can sometimes turn into dangerous situations. This is where Lane Assist can help: From a speed of 60 km/h, it can detect whether the vehicle unintentionally leaves its own lane. With corrective steering intervention, it can direct the driver’s attention back to what’s happening on the road.

The optional Side Assist can alert you to dangerous lane changes. An LED indicator in the exterior mirror tells you when a vehicle is in your blind spot or approaching quickly from behind.

When you signal to change lane, Side Assist calculates whether one of these vehicles could pose a danger to you based on position or speed – and draws your attention to this by flashing conspicuously.

Together with the Lane Assist lane departure warning it can also provide support through corrective steering intervention.

Optionally, the Rear Traffic Alert warns about vehicles crossing your path when reversing out of a parking space.  If you do not react, the system can intervene and brake the vehicle to alleviate or even prevent a collision.

The optional exit warning system helps you to avoid dangerous situations when exiting your vehicle. It can detect when another vehicle is approaching from behind and warn you acoustically and visually before getting out of the car.

Your Golf. Always in the best light – but without dazzling. image

Your Golf. Always in the best light – but without dazzling.

The optional advanced main-beam control Dynamic Light Assist improves visibility at night. The system can detect oncoming vehicles and vehicles ahead and automatically masks the corresponding areas of your main beam headlights.

In built-up areas, the vehicle also switches automatically from main beam to dipped beam. For you this means that you can drive for longer and more often with the main beam on. Streets are thus better illuminated and obstacles can be detected earlier.

Connectivity: More than bits and bytes

Volkswagen’s connectivity offerings give you more convenience and entertainment. Connecting your Golf  to the Internet and your smartphone helps you to get to your destination in a more relaxed way – the only thing you still have to do is drive.

VW Connect not only makes your everyday life with your Volkswagen more pleasant, but also more convenient. It allows you to access important vehicle information and offers valuable convenience with Breakdown Call or Service Scheduling.

And with the Volkswagen App for your smartphone, you can also keep an eye on important data about your Volkswagen while driving: for example, you can check the remaining range or that all doors and windows are closed.

Discover new possibilities – whether on the road or digitally image

Discover new possibilities – whether on the road or digitally

The entire world of Volkswagen digital services takes connectivity in your Golf to a higher level: VW Connect Plus offers additional smart technologies as an option.

These include intelligent navigation, which provides you with up-to-date traffic information on route changes virtually in real time, or where you can find warnings regarding traffic disruptions. The intelligent Online Route Calculation function allows you to react flexibly to changing conditions and take the best possible route. The Online Map Update ensures that your maps are always up to date. Meanwhile, the latest information about filling station prices and available spaces in car parks means that you will arrive feeling more relaxed.

Navigation for the Ready 2 Discover radio

Light Assist advanced main-beam control

Mood lighting

Dynamic background lighting

Adaptive cruise control ACC

Voice control or voice assistant

App-Connect

Infotainment and entertainment for every occasion.

For convenient use of apps and content, App-Connect is ideal. Music, news, maps or audio books are transmitted to the display of the infotainment system and can therefore be used within your field of vision. Two interfaces are possible for connecting smartphones: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto from Google. Wireless connection for the optional Discover navigation system and the Ready 2 Discover radio makes usage particularly convenient.
